15th Watchman's School Of Prayer

It is only a few weeks until the next Watchman's School Of Prayer that will be taking place in Cape Town, South Africa in the October month (School holidays). I have blogged about this before, but something that happened tonight just triggered the excitement again for this school.

My friend, Chester and I, had been writing a song tonight surrounding the thought pattern and heartfelt desire for intimacy with God. As I heard him play so beautifully on the guitar, I could just feel how the vulnerability of intimacy had just started creeping up on me again. I was then later on reminded that I had felt this everyday on Prayer School since I attended in 2014.

I was introduced to the Prayer School which is hosted by Jericho Walls International Prayer Network by a woman who had attended our church at the time. Not knowing what I was getting myself into, sister Eleanor had continued to pursue me to come join her. Money was an issue to go, but she had organised that I would get sponsored for my first school. I did not know how much this Prayer School would affect me until I actually step foot onto the very grounds of the camp site. It honestly felt like a part of heaven had been residing even on the very grounds.

I will be referring to both the previous year and last year's school, which is still very much fresh in my heart's memory.

1. What is the Watchman's School Of Prayer?
Well, in my own words I do not think that I would do justice to what it really stands for. However, I will try.
It is a time of separation from normal life, the busyness of daily schedules and basic responsibilities to get away with God for one common goal. Each year the Lord gives us a theme, a form of direction for what He wants to do in that specific season.
There is a lot of training that takes place. The training of how to establish a 24/7 prayer room in your local church. How to use the Word of God within your corporate worship times in a way that is enabling people to pray for longer times and enjoy it. We also get amazing teachings, insight and strategy which allows us to encounter God in new ways to help change communities and our nations.  And what is a prayer school without prayer right? Our main focus is prayer, worship and God's heart for humanity.

2. Who can come to the Watchman's School Of Prayer?
If you are reading this blog, you are invited! All believers of Jesus Christ are invited. This School Of Prayer is not just for intercessors and prayer warriors. This school is aimed to train all believers from different ministries to live a life of personal prayer and passion for Jesus. You will definitely not leave the school the same.
If you are passionate about Jesus and seeing Him lifted high in our lives then you are most welcome. Even if you are feeling like you need a fresh touch from Him or you simply do not know Him yet, then you are invited too. You will encounter a God full of love and a people who are in love with Him.

3. How do I get in contact to register for this school?
You can email the administrator of the Jericho Walls IPN and you can book via email. From there the administrator will guide you into the process of payment and booking. You can find details to contact Jericho Walls on the poster below.

4. I do not live in Cape Town or South Africa but I would love to attend, is this open to me as well?
Yes indeed! We have many people coming from out of Cape Town. We have had people coming from all over South Africa and even having some people over from Pakistan and places like Tibet and Israel.
If you register ahead of time you will be certain to have a place booked for you.

5. Can my entire family come or if I am alone, can I join?
Most certainly yes. We have seen families, couples and people come alone. Because of the family environment, it is so easy to feel welcome by the second you bring your luggage to reception, so you do not have to feel awkward about anything.

6. What is the food like?
It is amazing! Often times you are privileged to get seconds.

7. What is different about this school? Why should I come?
I can only testify about personal experience. What is different about this school is that it is not based on a denomination or race of people. It is simply the church coming together as part of one kingdom to see one common goal being achieved and that is for heaven to come.
I am messed up in a good way every time I have attended these schools. This year will be my third year as a young person - 23 years of age. My life was radically changed.
Worship is out of this world. It is very prophetic and spontaneous in the flow. You will learn a lot about exploring the deeper things of God, because these people don't stay on the surface of what worship is meant to look like. This school is very Word based, so do not forget to bring your bibles.
You would honestly feel like you want to change the world through personal prayer and evangelism.

8. What topics do you deal with during chapel times?
We deal with anything and everything the Lord wants us to touch on during this time. Topics from cultural worship to prayer movements. From evangelism to the setting up of prayer rooms. You also hear about the amazing things God is doing behind the scenes in nations such as represented on the school that media and church do not usually cover.

9. How do I help get the word out about this school? You can share this post with as many people as possible.

10. What about personal devotional times?
There is a prayer room that is open with different stations 24/7 right throughout the prayer school. You can go there in the middle of the night or when you are free from chapel time or eating times.

This school has changed my life dramatically in many ways. I have always felt full, leaving the school more than satisfied. I have balled my eyes out to see so many people speaking my language and loving God as He requires of us. These people are so genuine about life and people. Both the old and the young are celebrated and you leave equipped to go and be a mighty influence in your cities. I urge you to join us this year as we pray. God Himself said He will heal our land and if we turn to Him and pray - 2 Chronicles 7:14.

For more information you can go to their website. You can also find mp3 formatted recordings of last year's Prayer School to hear what it is about.

Abba Father (poem)

Tonight as I walked in the dark I thought about what it would be like If you were here with me in flesh If you were here holding my hand ...
