The blessing

For most of us, often times we are blinded by the unappreciative veil upon our eyes and we lose sight of the value and honour it is to have certain people in our lives, until the Lord begins to show us His love for the people then our view and vision changes and opens up.

In this post I want to honour certain kingdom people the Lord has strategically placed in my life. It is a blessing! These people have been such a strong power house in my life and all I can do is be grateful to Abba Father for gracing me with the honour.

Firstly I would like to honour my precious friends Chester and Whitney Philander. This power couple may appear to be like the sun and moon together, but what a blessing they are as a unit. We met one Sunday after an am service at the River Church in 2012 I think. I had no lift home and Dr. Danie Slabbert asked if I could get a lift with them to and from church. That was the door and start of the precious life long journey. Chester was this really quiet guy and really down to earth. So down to earth I actually thought he was angry at me for some reason. Whitney on the other hand was the conversation keeper and starter. She would spark up a conversation from just anything and keep the conversation going all the way.

I remember one day I visited their cosy home and somehow I played one of my own songs and sang it to them and Chester just smiled. After that many sleepovers and fun times I had spent with this precious couple. Through them I met this crazy guy called Jeremy Faro. He is this really passionate loud guy with a big voice. A mighty intercessor and great in the pursuit of the Lord. From this we had formed a precious inner circle. We would flow and minister in each others lives in truth and prayer. Because of these people my life had not been the same again. These are legends in my life that still need to be recognised right across nations and I simply cannot say enough about them.

Recently I met the Raaths family. What a funny family they are but yet so in love with God and what He is doing. I have never seen a family serve like this before. Salie and Hannie Raaths are the precious parents in this family. Salie has so much in him for youth and he has taught us a lot in the faith. Hannie is really supportive, such a beautiful lady and wife to Salie. They have both sown so much, years of sowing into the kingdom and now is definitely the time of reaping. Then you get the precious Sydney and Monique Raaths. Wow, what a precious precious couple. They have been trained and these people know how to serve. Mercia and Boland Smith, are a little far for me to get to know lol, but what I know is how precious they are with their precious daughter. Then the infamous Zander Raaths. Strong and courageous young man who knows who he is. Such a precious soul. Stefan is like the family already, quiet but full of depth. I truly enjoy leading worship with you guys at times because of your hearts. I just want to honour your family today, for the Lord is great in your household and you teach us how to live with each other.

Then people like Carla Beneke. So far but so close to our hearts. I truly enjoy your company and your craziness. You have a beautiful heart for people and you celebrate friendship. You hardly lack in excitement and you show us that joy is a part of life.

These are kingdom people in my life right now. People who know the heart of God and who pursues what He wants. There are many others that I have not shared in this post, like the beautiful cast of My story, My song (You have to buy tickets to this show. Please go to To Connect's page on Facebook for more info) and the Jericho Walls friends that I meet at the prayer room and on Watchmen School Of Prayer schools. You all have something I need and you all need something in me. But above all, we need each others love and support. Love your neighbour as you love yourself is the second commandment in the New Testament. And then the scriptures says that they will know us for our love for each other.

Wow, Jesus show us the true love of the Father. May our love never be higher for anyone else than for You. You are the love of our lives and you have given us these precious people to enjoy life with. Sometimes we don't know how and when the seasons will change and some might move away to another land or some might be called back home, but help us to appreciate each other and have grace in the face of each other.

Teach us to love!

Abba Father (poem)

Tonight as I walked in the dark I thought about what it would be like If you were here with me in flesh If you were here holding my hand ...
